    Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on April 29, in Ukraine there have been confirmed 9,866 COVID-19 cases, 250 patients died, 1103 patients recovered. In total 672 cases in children and 1,976 in medical workers were recorded. During the 24 hours, 456 new cases have been confirmed.

    As of April 29, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region - 412 cases;
    • Volyn region - 271 cases;
    • Dnipropetrovsk region - 323 cases;
    • Donetsk region - 52 cases;
    • Zhytomyr region - 357 cases;
    • Zakarpattia region - 403 cases;
    • Zaporizhia region - 228 cases;
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region - 821 cases;
    • Kirovograd region - 377 cases;
    • Kyiv - 1341 cases;
    • Kyiv region - 643 cases;
    • Lviv region - 405 cases;
    • Luhansk region - 33 cases;
    • Mykolaiv region - 116 cases;
    • Odesa region - 261 cases;
    • Poltava region - 188 cases;
    • Rivne region - 588 cases;
    • Sumy region - 98 cases;
    • Ternopil region - 708 cases;
    • Kharkiv region - 237 cases;
    • Kherson region – 111 cases;
    • Khmelnytsky region - 81 cases;
    • Chernivtsi region – 1,489 cases;
    • Cherkasy region - 282 cases;
    • Chernihiv region - 41 cases.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not provided.

    6,773 patients, out of this number 536 children and 1,643 medical personnel are undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 3,093 people were hospitalized, including 136 children and 333 healthcare workers. There are 129 people including 1 child and 8 healthcare workers having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.

    As a result of the complications caused by the disease, 250 people died with 138 men out of this number and 112 women, with 85% of deaths occurring in the 50 and above age group.

    A total of 1103 people including 237 medical personnel have already recovered - repeat laboratory testing has found no virus in body.

    The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of the morning of April 29, 2020, the Center received 1,230 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases. Since the beginning of 2020, 27,846 COVID-19 suspicions have been received.

    The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
