  • Rules of entry into Ukraine updated – how the Vdoma app will operate now
    Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, posted 21 October 2021 12:19

    From now on, when crossing the state border of Ukraine, unvaccinated people will need to install the Vdoma (At Home – ed.) application. The Vdoma app will change its functionality - it will need to be installed for 72 hours, until a person does a PCR test or antigen test. There will no longer be needed to be monitored on the basis of geolocation and face recognition data. Relevant changes were approved by the Government.

    "Ministry of Digital Transformation developed the Diia Vdoma application at the most difficult time for the country, in a few days. It has successfully fulfilled its function. Last year, the application was used by almost a million people who returned from abroad and spent 14 days of self-isolation. Thanks to the application, they could do it at home in comfortable conditions. Or pass the PCR test and complete self-isolation. Now, given the current situation, the Vdoma will change its functions. It will need to be installed for only 72 hours and it will be unnecessary to be regularly monitored for geolocation data and take photos," said Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

    To register in the Vdoma app, it is required to provide the following information:

    • last name, first name, patronymic (if any);
    • series and/or passport number;
    • place of self-isolation;
    • phone number.

    After that, the person must do a PCR or antigen test within 72 hours. A negative result should be applied to the application. The test must be performed in a laboratory verified by the Ministry of Health. A person can then uninstall the application. In case of a positive result, one needs to call family doctor.

    If a person for any reason did not undergo the test after crossing the border, after 72 hours the application is deactivated and the information is automatically transferred to law enforcement agencies. They will selectively check being in a place of self-isolation.

    If a person does not want to install the application, Ukrainian citizens will have to undergo a 14-day observation, and foreigners will be denied entry into Ukraine.
