There won’t be a shadow market for petroleum products in Ukraine. Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk emphasized in Telegram.
"All the schemes will be exposed and terminated, while their participants will be held accountable," said Oleksiy Honcharuk.
The PM noted that during the last meeting oil traders had shared a problem of illegal fuel stations, with almost 25% share at the market. And such concern of the market players about unfair competition and dumping by the players of the shadow market is clear.
The President has initiated a broad campaign to eliminate the shadow fuel trading schemes.
A total of 2,200 inspections were carried out by the SFS, the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine. Information regarding 1,399 illegal petrol stations of which:
377 ceased operations;
316 were previously dismantled or were not found at the addresses;
243 were dismantled during the reporting period;
463 have been issued a license.
4 thousand tons of fuel and lubricants to the tune of UAH 93.4 million as well as equipment to the tune of UAH 94.2 million have been removed. As a result of inspections, 292 administrative proceedings and 152 criminal proceedings were initiated.
“The Government has taken decisive steps. Together with petroleum products traders, we will continue to fight against illegal gas stations. We have agreed on that during our regular meeting today. Oil traders have confirmed the termination of illegal gas stations’ operation,” said Oleksiy Honcharuk. “Ukrainians will buy European quality petrol only from licensed traders. This is among the priorities of our Government.”
