Extraction of amber will be legalized in Ukraine. The budget 2020 will receive significant revenue from it. The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a bill on legal amber production.

"All land issues related to access to amber deposits will be settled. Strict criminal liability will be imposed for the illegal extraction of amber", Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk stated.

The bill regulates land issues related to access to amber deposits, introduces strict liability for non-compliance with land reclamation requirements and the obligation to compensate for losses incurred. The mining permits will solely be sold through auctions.
