Oleksii Kuleba met with IMF delegation
Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, held the first meeting with the delegation of the International Monetary Fund led by Gavin Gray, Head of the IMF Mission to Ukraine, and Priscilla Toffano, IMF Resident Representative for Ukraine.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the IMF team for the comprehensive work of the mission in Ukraine to understand the urgent needs.
The parties discussed the further implementation of the reforms envisaged in the Memorandum of Cooperation and Ukraine’s progress, which is highly appreciated by the Fund.
Discussing the support for internally displaced persons, Oleksii Kuleba noted that the Ministry was currently developing a new housing policy. It is also important to develop the capacity of communities so that they have the resources to implement recovery projects. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Ministry is counting on expert assistance in this area.
“Another issue is transparency and accountability. We will maintain the best practices and introduce new ones. We are communicating with the public and taking a comprehensive approach to this issue,” the Deputy Prime Minister stressed.
Maryna Denysiuk, Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development, and Serhii Sukhomlyn, Head of the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development, joined the conversation online. The Head of the Agency also spoke about the priorities in its work and internal administrative reform.
“Today we are working on a new structure of the Agency, which should make it more efficient and understandable for people. We are also starting to work on a model that will allow us to attract private capital to public-private partnership projects,” he said.
