Oleksii Kuleba: russia continues its deliberate terror against Ukraine’s civilian population

During the night of 6 July, russia launched another large-scale attack on Ukraine. Kyiv and Kyiv region sustained the most severe damage. Kharkiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and other regions also came under attack over the past 24 hours.

Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba expressed his condolences to the families of those killed.

“russia claimed 12 lives during its massive attack on Kyiv. I extend my sincere condolences to the families of the victims. The enemy targeted residential neighbourhoods in the capital. This is outright terrorism against Ukraine’s civilian population,” Oleksii Kuleba said.

According to preliminary information, 12 people were killed and more than 50 injured in the attack on Kyiv. Medical teams are providing all necessary assistance to the injured.

Damage has been recorded at more than 20 locations across four districts of the capital. The Podilskyi and Darnytskyi districts suffered the greatest destruction. Emergency response and rescue operations, as well as efforts to deal with the aftermath of the strikes, are ongoing.

Kyiv Region also came under attack. One person was killed and ten others injured in the russian strike. Private homes, businesses and other civilian infrastructure were damaged. Emergency headquarters and all relevant services are working at the affected sites.

The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, together with the local authorities, is coordinating the assessment of the damage and the next steps to restore the affected facilities.

Rescue operations are continuing. Emergency services remain engaged in dealing with the aftermath of the russian strikes and assisting the affected communities.
