Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, and Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Luxembourg, signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The activities will be implemented within the framework of the project “Support for the Recovery of Kryvyi Rih District”, with an estimated budget of EUR 50 million.

“In partnership with the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, we are launching a new stage of cooperation. It is aimed at building regional and local resilience, creating the preconditions for further reconstruction and development of Kryvyi Rih district and the city of Kryvyi Rih. The Memorandum is a continuation of the Agreement on Technical and Financial Cooperation between our countries, which we signed earlier this year. This is evidence of Luxembourg’s consistent and unrelenting support at this crucial time for Ukraine,” Oleksii Kuleba said during the online signing of the Memorandum.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine, the implementation of the Memorandum will improve the quality of local management of the recovery process, create new jobs and stimulate economic development of the district, provide safe and quality education for children and improve the quality of vocational education.

“I am confident that this Memorandum will open up new opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and experience. It will enable us to build a reliable and developed infrastructure and improve living conditions for local residents. This cooperation is also another step towards Ukraine’s integration into the European community,” said Oleksii Kuleba.

He thanked the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for its important support to Ukraine.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Executive Committee of Kryvyi Rih City Council and the Kryvyi Rih District Military Administration.
