A meeting was held in Kyiv between the Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine, Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Oleksii Kuleba, and a French delegation led by the newly appointed Special Envoy of the President of the French Republic for Ukraine's Relief and Reconstruction, Muriel Lacoue-Labarthe.

The parties discussed further cooperation in the restoration of Ukraine, support for critical infrastructure, the implementation of joint projects, and the involvement of French companies in the modernisation of thermal power, water, and transport infrastructure.

Oleksii Kuleba thanked France for its systematic support and decision to provide Ukraine with an additional EUR 71 million to strengthen the resilience of critical community infrastructure. He stressed that energy security remains a key priority in the context of constant attacks and commended France's assistance, in particular the transfer of generators to a number of Ukrainian cities.

Special attention was paid to the participation of French companies in the modernisation of thermal power generation, the development of distributed energy, and projects in the field of water supply and sanitation. Transport cooperation remains an important area, in particular the strategic partnership in the railway sector, including the agreement signed last November between Alstom and Ukrzaliznytsia for the supply of 55 electric locomotives.

The parties also acknowledged the active role of French regions and municipalities in supporting Ukrainian communities and developing long-term partnerships at the local level.
