The Czech Republic will help restore Dnipropetrovsk region. Prague’s priority is three sectors – energy generation, water supply and healthcare.

This was discussed during a meeting between Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, and Tomáš Kopeční, Governmental Envoy of the Czech Republic for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.

“I am grateful for all the assistance Ukraine has already received from the Czech Republic. But our country is being destroyed every day, so we must work to restore it, especially critical infrastructure. At the Ministry, we are laying the foundation for the comprehensive development of communities and territories. We will create policies and programmes for further recovery that take into account the specifics of the regions and the post-war development of the entire country. I think we can already talk about further areas of cooperation,” said Oleksii Kuleba.

The Czech Republic has expressed its readiness to take patronage of the restoration of Dnipropetrovsk region. The parties discussed the establishment of a permanent working group to work on reconstruction projects, as well as the opening of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Dnipro.

“We will be very happy to focus on a new project that we will agree with you and make every effort where others refuse to do so. We support Ukraine and its people because it is a contribution to our security as well,” said Tomáš Kopeční.

According to Tomáš Kopeční, the Czech Republic is already implementing a number of projects in Kharkiv region. For example, the region has already received 7 cogeneration plants for the region’s communities, a 20 MW turbine for the city and expensive equipment for the Kharkiv Heating Networks utility company.

As part of its support for Dnipropetrovsk region in 2023-2024, the Czech Republic provided multifunctional medical beds and diesel generators for Kryvyi Rih, and gas heaters, medical equipment and water treatment plants for Marhanets and Nikopol.

It is worth noting that in addition to humanitarian aid, the Czech Republic provides Ukraine with significant military support.
