Oleksiy Chernyshov met with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov held a working meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the main cooperation priorities, in particular those enshrined in the Memorandum signed in April this year with the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine, Maciej Janczak.
One of the results is a joint project aimed at ensuring access to human rights and basic services for Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.
Oleksiy Chernyshov expressed his gratitude to the Council of Europe for its clear and unwavering position and support for Ukraine.
“It was the Council of Europe that became the first high-level international organization to expel russia from its ranks after the start of the full-scale invasion,” the Deputy Prime Minister reminded.
Special attention was also paid to an important event for Ukrainians around the world - the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of a bill introducing multiple citizenship.
At the end of the meeting, Oleksiy Chernyshov thanked Alain Berset for his solidarity and support, as well as the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the Council of Europe for its systematic work.
