Ministry of Energy and GTSOU are working together to ensure commercial competitiveness and capacity utilization of the Vertical Corridor
The Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU), under the coordination of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, is working to expand routes for additional gas imports to Ukraine, as well as to ensure its transportation through the Ukrainian GTS to Central and Eastern Europe. In particular, GTSOU, together with the GTS operators of neighboring countries, is working to ensure the long-term commercial competitiveness of the Vertical Corridor.
“Having a joint product - transportation of gas from other countries, in particular from Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, to Ukraine using an economically advantageous tariff, we can increase the capacity and tariff revenues of each of the participating countries, as well as ensure the supply of non-russian resources, which is in line with the EU strategy,” said Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk. "This is a way to integrate our existing infrastructure into the pan-European one on fairly competitive terms and with the resource to cover the consumption of central and eastern Europe".
The next monthly auction will take place on June 23, 2025.
At the end of 2024, the guaranteed capacity was set at 7 million cubic meters per day. The parties are now working to increase the guaranteed capacity to 11.5 million m³ per day in 2025.
