Oleksiy Chernyshov congratulates Ylva Johansson on appointment as EU Special Envoy for Ukrainians

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov congratulated Ylva Johansson on her appointment as the European Union’s Special Enovy for Ukrainians in the EU.

“The creation of this position is yet another signal of the EU’s unwavering solidarity with the Ukrainian people. The role of the Special Envoy is to enhance coordination, represent the interests of Ukrainians, and implement practical support tools, including the development of a network of Unity Centres,” Oleksiy Chernyshov emphasised.

It should be noted that Ylva Johansson previously served as the European Commissioner for Home Affairs. As the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted, she is well-versed in the Ukrainian context and has visited Ukraine multiple times since the onset of the full-scale invasion.

“I look forward to fruitful cooperation to support our citizens in Europe,” Oleksiy Chernyshov stressed.
