  • Oleksandr Kubrakov: Attracting Italian business to rebuild Ukraine

    At a meeting with Davide La Cecilia, Special Envoy and Coordinator of the Italian Working Group on Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Ukraine, the team of the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development presented the main priorities of cooperation. The focus is on protecting and restoring the energy sector and developing cooperation in the transport sector.

    Davide La Cecilia presented a list of Italian companies that were interested in rebuilding and working in Ukraine.

    "Involving business to work in Ukraine is one of the most important tools for recovery and economic resilience. The format of cooperation at the level of the region, central government and the partner country has already proven effective in Denmark and Mykolaiv region, and joint projects of France are being implemented in Chernihiv region. We are already working on creating such a format together with Italy with one of the Ukrainian regions," said Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine, Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development.

    At the meeting of the G7 transport ministers in Milan, scheduled for 11 April, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration, Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov also plans to present Ukraine's recovery needs and invite Italian businesses to join the recovery effort.
