Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 09 April 2024 10:35

Situation in the power system as of 9 April: the enemy attacked energy infrastructure facilities in Poltava and Lviv regions; electricity consumption restrictions are in place in Kharkiv region.

    GENERATION, TRANSMISSION, CONSUMPTION

Over the past 24 hours, due to network restrictions on the transmission system operator's lines, blackout schedules were applied in Kharkiv region. This morning, outage schedules remain in effect in Kharkiv region.

During the day, the integrated power system of Ukraine had a surplus, with surplus electricity supplied to Poland in the total amount of 699 MWh. Also, due to the sunny weather and, accordingly, the active generation of electricity by SPPs, the transmission system operator limited the generation of electricity from renewable sources to a total of 8,531 MWh.

During the peak evening hours of consumption, emergency electricity was supplied from Poland, Romania and Slovakia for two hours at the request of the transmission system operator. The total amount was 800 MWh.

Ukraine's power system is stable and balanced.

    CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING

At night, the enemy attacked a high-voltage substation in Poltava region - a fire broke out on the territory, which was extinguished by the State Emergency Service. No injuries were reported. There was some damage to the equipment.

A high-voltage substation in the Lviv region was also attacked, and equipment caught fire. No injuries were reported. The consequences of the night attacks are being assessed and clarified.

Two high-voltage overhead lines were simultaneously disconnected due to the fighting in Dnipropetrovsk region, and an industrial facility lost power. Consumers have been reconnected.

    STATE OF THE GRID

A technical malfunction at a high-voltage substation in Lviv region resulted in a blackout of the railway (no train traffic was disrupted) and industrial facilities. At the same time, solar power plants reduced their generation. Power was restored to all consumers within an hour.

In Mykolaiv region, a high-voltage substation was shut down due to equipment damage, and household consumers lost electricity. Everyone has been reconnected as of now.

    SITUATION AT ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond is 15.49 metres. This is sufficient to meet the plant's needs.

    IMPORT/EXPORT

For the current day, electricity imports are forecast at 1781 MWh. It is also planned to export up to 345 MWh.
