The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Poland will exchange information on reconstruction needs and ways to meet them, as well as create conditions for the involvement of Polish business in reconstruction projects.
The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, and Waldemar Buda, Minister of Economic Development and Technology of Poland. The signing took place during the visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Poland.
“We are striving to make the reconstruction not only a major international humanitarian project, but also an economically viable investment for business. Together with our Polish colleagues, we are already discussing the financing of the reconstruction of several housing and social infrastructure facilities in Kharkiv region.
The participation of Polish business, with its experience, resources and expertise, supported by the government, is essential for us. I am grateful to our Polish partners, in particular Waldemar Buda, for their willingness to contribute to Ukraine’s reconstruction. We will ensure the effectiveness of this investment through maximum transparency, accountability and the introduction of digital tools in reconstruction,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov.
The Memorandum stipulates that the Polish side will provide information on Polish companies interested in participating in Ukraine’s reconstruction. To this end, it is planned to involve the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, which will be able to communicate with Polish business circles about the possibilities of entering the Ukrainian market.
The parties also agreed that after the launch of the Electronic Reconstruction Management System, the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development would regularly provide Polish partners with information on existing projects and investment opportunities in their implementation.
