  • Oleksandr Kubrakov: Record 195,700 tonnes exported from Pivdennyi Port on one vessel

CAPTAIN LEONIDAS, flying the Panamanian flag, became the largest vessel to call at Ukrainian ports since the start of the full-scale invasion. The vessel is 300 metres long, 50 metres wide and has a deadweight of over 203,000 tonnes. This was announced by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine, Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine.

As of now, more than 36 million tonnes of cargo have been exported via the Ukrainian sea corridor since August 2023. This is more than the Grain Initiative's figures for the first year of its operation. The Ukrainian corridor has already been used by 1286 vessels, which exported 25 million tonnes of agricultural products to Asia, Africa and Europe. Currently, 135 vessels are waiting to enter the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi, exporting 4 million tonnes of cargo.

The team of the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine is working hard to ensure the stable movement of exports by sea and to achieve the targets as of 2022. The Ukrainian corridor is an efficient logistics route, the rhythmic operation of which is the result of joint efforts of the state, the Joint Defence Forces and the entire maritime infrastructure team.
