Oleksandr Kubrakov: Our task is to reach stable export performance at the level of 2021

Our task is to reach stable export performance at the level of 2021. This was stated by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, at a meeting with representatives of the Danish Parliament’s European Affairs Committee. The conversation focused on the expansion of export corridors, in particular through the Danube port cluster, the development of the railway border crossing system and the opening of new checkpoints. The ports of Greater Odesa remain a key logistics route.

“Despite systematic air attacks, the Ukrainian Corridor – a temporary corridor across the Black Sea – is working and increasing its efficiency. Since its launch in August, almost 27 million tonnes of cargo have been shipped, 70% of which is Ukrainian agricultural products. The main goal now is to reach the stable levels of 2021. The results of recent months already confirm that this is an achievable goal. In January, tax revenues increased by almost a quarter compared to the planned amount thanks to the operation of the Ukrainian corridor. This is the first time since the full-scale invasion,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov.

The maritime industry is one of the areas of cooperation between Ukraine and Denmark. Even before the full-scale invasion, the Danish Ministry of Defence and the then Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine signed a memorandum on the construction of multipurpose vessels for the Navy and the search and rescue service. After the start of full-scale aggression, the project was suspended. The parties are considering resuming cooperation. Other joint projects under discussion include projects in transport, urban planning, and small and medium-sized business development. The implementation of the project to restore Mykolaiv region continues.

“In the spring of 2023, Denmark took over the patronage of the region. More than USD 100 million has already been allocated. Since then, a number of projects have been implemented. Some of these are currently underway. This is exemplary cooperation between the state, partners, and local governments. Denmark is one of our most committed partners in the reconstruction process, and we appreciate this cooperation,” Oleksandr Kubrakov said.
