  • Prime Minister: Spousal support payouts covered for the benefit of Ukrainian children made up UAH 8.4 billion

    The #No child left behind initiative launched by the Government became a real instrument for protecting the rights of children who are brought up in single-parent families or deprived of parental care. This was announced by  Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.

    Today, on August 21, during the Government meeting the Prime Minister presented the current state of affairs in the economy, social sphere, education, medicine, defense spheres and outlined the main priorities that need to be continued.

    "We have set up a severe system for protecting children's rights. It is important to continue this", Volodymyr Groysman said.

    Thus, according to the Head of Government, the amount of spousal support payouts covered for the benefit of children and already paid reached UAH 8.4 billion. This is money for the development of children, their education, leisure and more.

    At the same time, the Government has resumed assistance programs for children and young people who have been brought up without parents. Thus, in recent years, 1,297  apartments were purchased for orphans aged 18 but had no sources of support. 124 family-type children's home were built and renovated.
