New Social Portal, ePotential and changes in social insurance: what awaits the social sector next year
The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine continues to reform the social sector through the introduction of innovative digital solutions that make social benefits more accessible, transparent and efficient for every citizen. The key innovations were presented at the GLOBAL DIGITAL SOCIAL FORUM.
Social portal
The portal will be a new stage in the digitalisation of the social sphere. The ability to submit online applications for social services is the first step. From now on, Ukrainians will have an opportunity to apply for social services without having to visit social security offices and waste time in queues. At https://soc.gov.ua, you can already find all the necessary information about yourself and your family, apply for services, and track the status of your application in your personal account. Beta testing of the functionality took place in four pilot regions - Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Poltava and Cherkasy regions. The portal will be rolled out across Ukraine from now on.
ePotential Project
The project will become a key tool for rehabilitation and restoration of the ability to work for the citizens who have suffered temporary disabilities. A comprehensive system is being developed that will include the assessment of the state of functioning and the development of individual rehabilitation plans, which should be supplemented by an individual plan for the provision of social services and an individual employment plan, if necessary. The project is aimed at introducing effective interaction between different areas and providing simplified access to services through a single portal.
New social insurance model
The main goal of the new social insurance model is to facilitate the rapid restoration of economic independence of citizens, including through the introduction of rehabilitation sick leave. Under this model, employees will be compensated for the entire time required to restore their ability to work. This approach will help guarantee financial stability and medical support for those who need long-term treatment or rehabilitation.
The key innovation is the automation of the compensation process. This means that people no longer need to visit hospitals and collect piles of documents for their employers. The doctor is expected to issue a medical report that will be automatically entered into the system. As of today, more than 25.6 million e-health certificates have been issued in digital format.
The social sector of Ukraine will undergo significant changes next year and the Ministry of Social Policy will continue to work to ensure that reforms improve the quality of life for each citizen.
