New rules for designating critically important enterprises: Government decision

Today, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine updated the resolution that sets out the procedure for granting critically important enterprise status. Companies developing defence technologies and innovations without the use of budget funds can now be included in the list – on the basis of contracts with the Ministry of Defence. The requirements for the volume of worker reservations for such enterprises have also been clarified.

“The adopted changes introduce a new criterion for designating enterprises, institutions, and organisations as critically important if they are developing innovations in the defence sphere – particularly in the creation and improvement of weapons and military equipment without using budget funds. Such enterprises operate on the basis of agreements or contracts concluded with the Ministry of Defence,” noted Vitaliy Kindrativ, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The adoption of the act will contribute to the sustainable operation of enterprises developing defence innovations, which play a key role in ensuring the economic resilience and defence capability of the state.
