Japan provides another batch of modern equipment to State Fisheries Agency for irrigation system maintenance
The global community continues to support Ukraine and provide assistance during this challenging time.
Under the Programme for Emergency Recovery (Subproject No. 8: “Subproject for Agriculture Sector Urgent Support”), funded by the Government of Japan and implemented through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), deliveries of modern equipment are ongoing.
State water management organisations under the State Fisheries Agency in Odesa, Rivne, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad regions have received 22 Kubota tractors and 18 Rolmex hydraulic mowers.
In 2024–2025, under this grant assistance segment, the Agency’s operational organisations received 98 units of advanced equipment from leading Japanese and global manufacturers – excavators, tractors, bulldozers, trailers, dump trucks, pickups, mowers, and dredgers – valued at over USD 9 million. This equipment significantly enhances the efficiency of repair and maintenance work on state irrigation infrastructure.
The State Fisheries Agency expresses gratitude to the people of Japan for this support and is confident that the effective use of the equipment will boost crop yields on irrigated lands and strengthen Ukraine’s food security.
