14.4 million people have benefited from the Winter eSupport programme. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a meeting of the Cabinet on 25 March.
According to him, yesterday the Government completed the payment of UAH 1,000 to each person who needed this assistance. Ukrainians used the money to pay utility bills, buy Ukrainian medicines and make donations to support the Armed Forces.
According to Denys Shmyhal, this programme was the largest in the country’s history.
In general, last winter, a number of programmes under the Winter Support initiative of the President of Ukraine were implemented, some of which are still ongoing.
“Under the Warm Winter programme, about 600,000 Ukrainians received child benefit. We have more than 100,000 applications under the eBook programme, under which payments are ongoing. Almost 3 million Ukrainian families receive benefits and subsidies for utilities. 500,000 teachers and educators in schools receive additional payments of 1,000 hryvnias,” the Prime Minister said.
