Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi met with Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic Jozef Bíreš in the framework of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council (AgriFish). The AgriFish meeting is taking place on 23-24 October in Luxembourg.

The parties discussed issues of cooperation in the agricultural sector between Ukraine and Slovakia and the export of agricultural products. In particular, they discussed the licensing mechanism for certain types of Ukrainian agricultural products.

Jozef Bíreš assured support and assistance to Ukrainian farmers. He informed that the Slovak government was considering the action plan proposed by Ukraine for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products. In particular, the technical feasibility of introducing a licensing mechanism is being discussed.

Mykola Solskyi thanked Slovakia for the support it had provided to Ukraine over the past two years.

Ministers agreed to coordinate on the situation and maintain constructive relations between the two countries.
