Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, posted 31 July 2026 10:16

At the instruction of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and within the framework of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, a consolidated unit of 70 rescuers and 15 specialized vehicles was sent to the French Republic. This was reported by Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ivan Vyhivskyi.

“Yesterday I had an online conversation with the Minister of the Interior of the French Republic, Laurent Nuñez. We discussed details regarding the work of the Ukrainian rescue team in France. Also, if additional assistance is needed, we are ready to deploy State Emergency Service aviation to help extinguish forest fires,” wrote the Head of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine.

Ivan Vyhivskyi thanked his French counterpart for the high assessment of the work of Ukraine’s Ministry of Interior units and for the readiness to strengthen cooperation between the ministries. He emphasized that SES rescuers have unique experience working in extremely difficult conditions.

Every day they eliminate the consequences of russian attacks, extinguish large-scale fires, conduct search-and-rescue operations, and work in zones of constant danger.

Despite the challenges of full-scale war and dozens of daily shellings, Ukraine is always ready to help those who stand with us in the hardest times.
