Government disburses UAH 1.6 billion for vocational education, lyceums, and school meals

The Government continues to systematically invest in the development of Ukrainian education, modernizing learning infrastructure and creating modern conditions for obtaining quality education. Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi informed.

“The Government directed over UAH 860 million to modernize institutions of vocational and professional pre‑higher education. This includes more than 100 projects across the regions: new workshops and laboratories, updated equipment, energy efficiency, safety, and accessibility,” noted the Head of Government.

In addition, the Government completed the distribution of nearly UAH 700 million in subsidies for 130 future academic lyceums in 22 regions of Ukraine. The funds will be used to create modern educational spaces: purchasing educational, computer, and multimedia equipment, furniture, and laboratory facilities for natural sciences and STEM.

Special attention is given to supporting schoolchildren in frontline regions. The Government channeled UAH 83.6 million to help communities organize free hot meals for primary school students in eight frontline regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv. The funds were provided by the UN World Food Programme. Altogether, UAH 14.4 billion is earmarked for school meals in 2026.

“These are important initiatives started by the previous Government — and we are continuing and strengthening them,” emphasized Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi.
