The bravery of Ukrainians in the fight for their territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as impressive reforms in Ukraine, evoke admiration – Minister for Foreign Affairs of Estonia Urmas Reinsalu emphasized during the negotiations with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko on November 4, in Kyiv.
Vadym Prystaiko thanked Estonia both for its continued support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and for practical assistance in reforming Ukraine as well as for humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian citizens affected by Russian aggression in the east of Ukraine.
Urmas Reinsalu emphasized Estonia’s firm support of the main foreign policy priorities of Ukraine: European and Euro-Atlantic integration. It was noted that Ukraine could count on the EU and NATO membership, provided the relevant criteria are met.
The Ministers also exchanged views on the future of the Eastern Partnership European Union foreign policy initiative. A common understanding of the importance of applying the principle of differentiation within the Eastern Partnership Initiative was noted.
The Ministers expressed mutual interest in deepening bilateral cooperation in e-governance and cybersecurity.
Effective coordination within international organizations, including Estonia’s non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council in 2020-2021, was also discussed.
