An online platform containing information on the use of medicines for patients with COVID-19 has been launched in Ukraine. Created by the State Expert Center (SEC) of the Ministry of Health, the resource is intended to inform citizens and doctors about the drugs used in the treatment of coronavirus disease. Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Iryna Mykychak announced this at a briefing.
"There is no specific therapy that affects the virus, but there are a number of drugs that we have included in the protocol following the recommendation of official institutions of the US, Canada, EU, Japan, Australia. This platform offers you information about the effect of medicines. I remind you that prescribing medicines is solely the competence of a doctor,” said Iryna Mykychak.
The Deputy Minister also tells that MoH experts and Ukrainian doctors are constantly exchanging experiences with their foreign counterparts on measures to combat COVID-19.
“We are constantly conducting video conferences with our foreign colleagues. For example, with Chinese doctors, with Ukrainian doctors who have returned from Italy. Yesterday, we held a telebridge with colleagues from the United States. The next such event is planned with colleagues from Poland,” said Iryna Mykychak.
