Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, work has been underway to restore the Ukrainian medical infrastructure damaged by russia. Thus, despite systematic attacks by the russian army, 510 Ukrainian medical facilities have already been fully restored, and another 355 have been partially restored or are in the process of being restored.
These are medical facilities in the de-occupied territories, as well as those that have suffered minor damage: broken windows, roof and facade damage, etc. Most of the restored medical facilities are located in Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions.
Today, restoring damaged medical infrastructure is a priority for the state to provide everyone with access to medical services.
That is why the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and its partners will continue to work to restore Ukrainian healthcare facilities so that doctors can work and provide the necessary medical care to the population in this difficult time.
It should be noted that over more than two years of full-scale war, the enemy has damaged 1,591 medical facilities and destroyed another 210. Medical facilities in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions suffered the greatest losses. It is impossible to obtain comprehensive information on the extent of damage to hospitals in the temporarily occupied territories.
In addition, the russian army damaged 161 ambulances, destroyed 261 ambulances and captured another 125.
