  • Ministry of Culture and Information Policy: Ukraine receives generators from UNESCO
Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, posted 22 December 2022 19:01

On December 22, Ukraine received 14 generators for the cultural sector from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) following a request by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. Due to russian aggression and attacks on critical infrastructure facilities, Ukrainian cultural institutions throughout the country remain without heating and electricity, and need assistance.

“We received 14 generators from UNESCO. Our Heritage Emergency Response Initiative will distribute them to museums that need them most,” said Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

Ukraine expects more generators from partner countries so that Ukrainian cultural institutions have the equipment to survive the winter and keep working.

UNESCO is world’s leading international organization committed to protecting and preserving cultural heritage. Recently, Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, met with Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, at the headquarters of the organization in Paris to discuss support for Ukrainian culture.
