International partners allocate around USD 10.5 million for temporary crop storage

International partners have confirmed that they will provide almost USD 10.5 million to support small and medium-sized agricultural producers operating in Ukraine’s frontline regions, Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi announced.

“The funds will be used to provide temporary storage for this year’s harvest,” the Prime Minister said.

According to him, the Government is also finalising arrangements with the World Bank to secure a further USD 25 million, which would allow the support programme to be expanded.

The funding will help agricultural producers obtain the necessary equipment and partly address crop-storage difficulties, including those caused by obstacles to exports.

“I thank our international partners for supporting Ukraine’s agricultural sector and working with us to safeguard global food security,” Sergii Koretskyi stressed.

The Prime Minister emphasised that the Government continues to negotiate with international financial institutions and donors to increase targeted support for farmers suffering losses as a result of russian terror in the Black Sea region.
