Ukraine and China to cooperate in information sphere

On September 14, 2018, a meeting between Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Yuriy Stets and Editor-in-Chief of China's Xinhua News Agency He Ping took place in Kyiv.

The sides agreed to cooperate in the information sphere, in particular, on the mutual promotion and exchange of information between the International broadcasting multimedia platform of Ukraine and Xinhua News Agency.

"The main goal of this meeting for us is to help Chinese people to know more truthful  news about Ukraine, about the positive developments that are taking place here, about the peculiarities of Ukrainian life and our unique culture," the Minister of Information Policy stressed.

 It should be noted that on September 14, 2018, the Ukrinform National News Agency of Ukraine and the Xinhua News Agency have signed an agreement on information cooperation.

Background

Xinhua is China's largest news agency, headquartered in Beijing. The agency was established on November 7, 1931, and it has offices in 105 countries. Xinhua products are represented by all types of media and are available in eight languages.
