Ukraine's achievements in the field of energy efficiency and clean energy, as well as the most fruitful ways of cooperation with Germany were discussed in the course of a meeting between Head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Serhii Savchuk and Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Ukraine of the Bundestag Omid Nouripour.
While discussing these issues, the parties agreed that the implementation of "green" projects - profitable investments not only in energy independence and decentralization, but also in the welfare of society.
Germany has achieved tangible results in this sphere. For example, the share of "clean" electricity in Germany has increased from 6% in 2000 to already 36% in 2017. The greatest contribution to this sphere is made by solar and wind powers.
Omid Nouripour highly assessed Ukraine's achievements in clean energy, the rapid dynamics of new capacities and investment potential.
The participants of the meeting agreed that development of renewable energy and promotion of electric transport and electric charging stations in Ukraine are the most promising areas of bilateral cooperation.
