  • A delegation of Ukraine takes part in the 28th Conference of the OIE Regional Commission for Europe

    On September 17, 2018, a meeting of the 28th Regional Commission of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) for Europe commenced in Tbilisi (Georgia) and will last till September 21, 201. Ukraine is represented for the event by a delegation of the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection headed by Andriy Zhuk, First Deputy Chairman of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

    During the week of the Conference's work, representatives of the Ukrainian delegation, in particular, will participate in the discussion of regional issues related to the health of animals, the sanitary state and the safety of food products of animal origin at the production stage.

    Participants of the meeting will consider the current epizootic situation of OIE member countries based on the results of the annual reports and Ukraine's position on the control and prevention of infectious animal diseases.

    The delegation of Ukraine will also take part in the discussion of recommendations on animal health and in accordance with the general rules of the OIE, which will be submitted for approval at the World Assembly of OIE Delegates in May 2019, and will also exchange views on the measures needed to combat transboundary animal diseases and zoonoses, as well as discuss ways to improve the work and strengthen the veterinary services of the OIE member countries of the European region.
