Ministry of Digital Transformation: AI assistant to be introduced in Diia for accessing services
Deputy Prime Minister for Innovations, Education, Science, and Technology Development – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov has announced the launch of an AI assistant in Diia. The beta test will begin on the portal in June. The AI assistant will help users access the required service or document, locate the nearest Administrative Service Centre, and, in the future, support voice interaction.
“We’ve rethought what we’re doing with Diia. In 2019–2020, we made a leap and created a sleek app with excellent UX/UI, where services could be accessed quickly. But now, AI has changed consumer culture. Anything that doesn’t feel like ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar models prompts questions about how to use it. To deliver the best user experience, we need to transform Diia into an AI-driven product,” said Mykhailo Fedorov.
During DOU Day, the Deputy Prime Minister shared that the AI assistant will be launched in beta on the Diia portal in June. Users will not only be able to access services with AI support but also find answers to questions, such as whether a specific document is needed for travel abroad or how to locate the nearest Administrative Service Centre.
The plan includes enabling the AI agent to send documents and, in the future, guide users through the entire process of obtaining a service. For example, a user could describe a situation, such as “My house was hit by a missile,” and the AI would identify the need for the eVidnovlennia service, prompt the user to submit a few photos, and then send the application to the relevant commission.
Looking ahead, users will be able to make requests by voice and interact with Diia in the same conversational way as with other AI models.
