Ministry of Strategic Industries and BRDO sign memorandum of cooperation in the defence-industrial sector
The Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine and the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to advance the development of the defence-industrial sector.
The parties have formalised their joint commitment to improving state policy in the defence-industrial sector and fostering its growth based on transparency, efficiency, and openness to innovation.
The collaboration includes the following key areas:
- Analytical and legal review of regulatory acts in the defence-industrial sector;
- Development of effective digital solutions for sector management;
- Deregulation and creation of a favourable investment climate for the sector’s growth;
- Information support for initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability in sector processes;
- Engagement of international partners in projects to develop the defence-industrial sector.
A specific focus of enhanced cooperation will be the modernisation of management processes within the remit of the Ministry of Strategic Industries.
“We are grateful to BRDO for their active support of Ukraine’s defence industry, as well as for their trust and readiness to collaborate with the Ministry. Partnering with a leading analytical centre will strengthen our institutional capacity through high-quality expertise, enable the implementation of effective solutions, including digital ones, and facilitate access for our arms manufacturers to state programmes for the production of Ukrainian weapons. This memorandum serves as a roadmap for actions we are beginning to implement together,” said Anna Gvozdiar, Deputy Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
“Two years ago, the BRDO team made a strategic decision to systematically apply our experience and expertise to address challenges in state policy in the defence sector. We called this approach Defence First and have been consistently implementing it with our partners. We are pleased that six months of collaboration in shaping policies for the defence-industrial sector has laid the foundation for a deeper and more structured partnership with the Ministry of Strategic Industries,” said Oleksii Dorohan, Executive Director of BRDO.
