Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity in synergy with the International Monetary Fund continue work to reform the social sector

Denys Uliutin, Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, held a meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund, led by Gavin Gray, IMF Mission Chief in Ukraine.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further steps in reforming the social sector, including pension reform, pension indexation, and the progress of implementing basic social assistance.

“Reforms in the social sector, particularly pension reform, are often perceived as an increase in payments. But in reality, it is primarily about changing the entire model of the system so that it is truly sustainable and fair over the long term,” noted Denys Uliutin.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify cooperation on social sector reforms, particularly regarding the pension reform and improvement of the social benefits system.
