The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, jointly with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, has successfully piloted a social rehabilitation programme for service members and their families.
The first 40 members of the military, together with their families (spouses/partners/children), joined the programme.
The project team consisted of civilian and military psychologists, social workers, case managers, lawyers, and physiotherapists. The main task of the specialists was to facilitate the physical and psychological recovery of the participants, establish mutual understanding between the militaries and their families, and help them adapt to civilian life.
Feedback from the programme participants and reports from the working group members and relevant specialists showed that the project piloting was successful, allowing the programme to be scaled up, further developed and made available throughout the country.
