The Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories has transferred almost UAH 60 million to regional budgets to compensate for the accommodation of IDPs. Funds in the amount of UAH 59.9 million were allocated to provide an additional subsidy to local budgets to compensate institutions for free accommodation of internally displaced persons in January 2024.

This was announced during a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of IDPs chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

These are municipal institutions, state educational institutions funded from local budgets, and shared ownership institutions of territorial communities managed by regional and district councils.

The funds were allocated by the Government from the reserve fund of the state budget. In accordance with the relevant order, the Ministry directed them to local budgets to pay compensation to institutions that sheltered IDPs.
