Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories initiates creation of Unified Register of kremlin Captives

On the instructions of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk, the National Information Bureau (NIB) is updating the lists of civilian hostages held in russian captivity and is starting to work on creating a separate register of kremlin prisoners.

We are talking about those Ukrainian citizens - civilian hostages - who were deprived of their personal freedom by the occupiers because of their political or civic activities.

Currently, the NIB has information about at least 170 such people. In fact, the number of our citizens held captive because of their political or civic activities may be much higher.

First of all, it concerns the Crimean Tatars who have been resisting the occupiers for 9 years of occupation of the peninsula.

It is symbolic that the NIB is starting to work on the creation of such a registry on the eve of the Day of Resistance to russian Occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol, which Ukraine celebrates on February 26.

The country should know by name the heroes who challenged the hateful system, lost their personal freedom, but retained their freedom of spirit and dignity.

The independence of the nation and the state begins with such people!
