Ministry for Communities and Territories Development initiates the establishment at the Government level of an interdepartmental working group on Ukraine's membership in the Council of Europe Development Bank
Ministry for Communities and Territories Development initiated the formation at the Government level of the interdepartmental working group on membership of Ukraine in the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB).
The first concrete step to the membership of our state in CEB is made.
What tangible result of combining efforts with the bank can Ukrainians expect?
With the support of a powerful European institution, which has many years of experience in financing residential programs for displaced persons in different countries of Europe, we will be able to more effectively solve the housing problem of our families that their war deprived the roof over his head. And such families, unfortunately, significantly increased as a result of this war.
"Convinced, Ukraine's accession to CEB is important for Ukrainians to promote the modernization of state housing policy in our country, will help develop new residential programs, take part in international investment projects, attract foreign investment to ensure the housing of Ukrainians who suffered as a result of the war", Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Chernyshov underscored.
Background
The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) was founded in 1956 by eight member states of the Council of Europe to resolve the problems of refugees with which Europe faced after the Second World War. The main objective of residential projects of the CEB is to promote access to a worthy and affordable housing for low-income and medium-sized persons through the provision of loans or reduce housing deficit (building new housing or restoring the existing residential fund).
Since 1956, the total approval of the CEB’s projects in the residential sector reaches 11 billion euros. At present, the CEB provides 13 projects in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Macedonia.
