On March 11, with the participation of the Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Chernyshov, the first meeting of the sectoral working group “Energy Efficient Buildings and District Heating Reform” took place.

“This industry working group was established to synchronize efforts and involve all projects that are currently being implemented in the areas of energy efficiency of buildings and district heating in Ukraine. We sincerely believe that these measures will help us achieve a synergistic effect and significantly increase the efficiency of ITA projects in these areas," said Oleksii Chernyshov.

The main task of the sectoral working group is to coordinate the state's efforts with international and development partners aimed at implementing common priorities, comprehensive solutions to problems in certain areas, and coordination of areas of cooperation in international technical assistance (ITA) projects.

The meeting’s participants discussed the implementation of the goals set in the National Economic Strategy of Ukraine until 2030 and the priorities outlined by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, which include improving energy efficiency and implementing effective government policies aimed at providing consumers with quality heat supply services.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers, Ambassador of Germany to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen, representatives of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and more than 80 development partners involved in energy efficiency and heat supply sectors.

The Minister also noted that everything possible had been done to involve all major stakeholders in the operational activities of this sectoral working group.

"I am confident that this sectoral working group will be a useful tool helping us to achieve sustainable and successful results in the field of energy efficiency of buildings and district heating," summed up Oleksii Chernyshov.
