Ministry of Defense financed over UAH 1.5 billion for the restoration of defense industry enterprises

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has provided budgetary financing to eliminate the consequences of hostilities and restore the production activities of Ukraine's defense industry enterprises.

"The domestic defense industry is steadily expanding its capabilities. The share of Ukrainian weapons and military equipment supplied to the Defense Forces is also growing. That is why, on the initiative of the Ministry of Defense, the mechanism for financing defense enterprises that have suffered enemy attacks was updated this summer. Thanks to this, the enterprises received budget support in the amount of more than UAH 1.5 billion and managed to resume their activities," said Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.

This was made possible by amendments to the Government Resolution regulating the “Procedure for the use of funds provided for in the state budget for the implementation of state target programs for the reform and development of the defense-industrial complex, the development, mastering, and introduction of new technologies, and the expansion of existing production capacities for the manufacture of defense products.”

For the practical implementation of the provisions of the Resolution, specialists from the Ministry of Defense are developing a comprehensive plan of urgent measures to ensure the sustainable operation of domestic defense industry enterprises. The plan provides for a change in geography and the relocation (duplication) of the production capacities of the most critically important defense industry enterprises.
