As part of the Ukrainian delegation’s visit to Latvia, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleh Nemchinov met with the Chairman of the Valmiera Municipality Council Jānis Baiks.

The Minister expressed his gratitude to the municipality of Valmiera for the support of Ukrainian citizens who have found temporary shelter in Latvia and are currently residing in the region.

The meeting focused on Ukrainian-Latvian cooperation in the economic sphere, as well as practical assistance to cities in Ukraine. In this context, the parties stressed the importance of continuing cooperation between Valmiera municipality and Ukrainian cities.

During his visit to Valmiera, Oleg Nemchinov also visited the Defence Partnership Latvia enterprise, where he got acquainted with the production of a batch of six-wheeled armoured personnel carriers Patria 6x6. It is expected that this year Ukrainian military units will be equipped with such armoured vehicles, which will strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities in the fight against the russian aggressor.
