The Ukrainian delegation led by Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Ihor Petrashko is taking part in the 2020 Economic Forum “Europe: Solidarity.Liberty.Community”, which takes place from September 7 to 9 in Poland.
Within the framework of the Forum, the Minister discussed issues of international cooperation and cooperation during a panel discussion "In search of a driving force for the European economy."
"The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected the economies of almost every country in the world. Today, as never before, an important task for us is to strengthen measures for economic growth, create favorable conditions for doing business, improve investment attractiveness and deepen cooperation between our countries, " Ihor Petrashko stressed.
Thus, the Economic Stimulus Program to overcome the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic has been endorsed. This is a blueprint until 2022, which is designed to stabilize and sustainably develop Ukraine's economy, preserve existing and stimulate the creation of new jobs with decent working conditions, as well as implement business support programs
The Government of Ukraine pays considerable attention to the reform of the agricultural sector, in particular, the introduction of the land market, a transparent mechanism for the transfer of land ownership, attracting investment in agriculture.
The Minister also noted the dynamic development of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Poland, which is Ukraine's second largest trading partner among European countries.
"For us, the successful operation of Polish and European companies in our market is vitally important. Positive examples will serve as a clear signal for European companies to expand their presence in the Ukrainian market, "the Minister underscored.
