The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and VISA announce cooperation aimed at the establishment of consulting areas for small and medium-sized businesses and the development of on-line public services. The corresponding Memorandum was signed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov and Senior Vice President, Group Country Manager for Visa CISSEE Vira Platonova.
Recently, the Ministry of Digital Transformation announced its intention to create consulting areas for entrepreneurs in the format of online platforms and offline hubs in every region of Ukraine. Such a project is aimed to have a positive impact on the Ukrainian economy by promoting the level of knowledge and competence of entrepreneurs and, as a result, the success of Ukrainian businesses. VISA will support the implementation of this project and will direct its efforts to the development of information and educational materials for small and medium-sized businesses in digital literacy, the use of modern technologies for receiving payments (Tap to Phone technology, which turns a smartphone into a mobile POS terminal, and QR codes).
Apart from that the parties plan to introduce technological solutions for payment for administrative and other electronic services through the mobile application and online public services system (diia.gov.ua), to develop recommendations using the latest technological solutions for digitizing payments made by the state to citizens.
"Public services should be as convenient and fast as possible. We adhere to these principles in the process of creating a mobile app and the Diia (Action) portal. That is why it is critical for us to provide citizens with the opportunity to receive not only services but also financial assistance from the state online. We are also planning to enable Ukrainians to make various payments, such as utility bills, fees, and fines, through their personal account at the Diia portal. We have already kicked off work on the first joint project that will shortly be launched. This is an opportunity for drivers to pay fines through the mobile app Diia", Mykhailo Fedorov underscored.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, partnership with VISA in this direction will make the payment process reliable and prompt. "Nationwide digital transformations can only be done through a private-public partnership," Mykhailo Fedorov summarized.
"VISA has determined financial awareness and inclusivity as one of the fundamental elements of improving the well-being of the population. Today, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, we are starting the work on a project to digitize the payment for public services for the public, and we also plan to focus on small and medium-sized businesses and technology solutions for SMEs and we are proud of that. This Memorandum aims to increase success of businesses in Ukraine, to ensure easy, simple and secure payment for administrative services online, and most importantly to solve the most pressing and urgent problems in the field of economic digitalization with the help of the state-of-the art technologies", Vira Platonova, Senior Vice President, Group Country Manager for Visa CISSEE underscored.
