Local governments have started verifying addresses in the Unified State Register of Addresses (USRA). The key goal is to systematise information on addresses and create a single reliable source of address data, where each settlement, street, building or structure will have a unique identifier and a single correct name.
Verification consists of several steps:
The data from the Address Register is important for ensuring interoperability between information systems at different levels of government and solves the problem of reducing errors in government systems regarding addresses.
The USRA will also help reduce the possibility of fraud in relation to real estate ownership.
As of today, 24 teams of "mentors" have been formed in each region, consisting of 71 specialists from the RMAs, RSAs and communities, and 1,360 local government specialists have been trained, issued a certificate of readiness for work containing confirmation of their skills.
More than 954 communities have already completed theoretical and practical training, received access to the Address Register cabinets and started verifying addresses.
The Address Register is one of the basic registers in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Public Electronic Registers" and Government Resolution No. 254. Specialised experts are currently working on the implementation of the Register of Administrative and Territorial Units and the Register of Buildings and Structures.
