  • Ministry of Economy: Last week, businesses received over UAH 700 million in affordable loans

    Over the past week, more than 100 entrepreneurs received loans under the Government’s Affordable Loans at 5-7-9% programme totalling UAH 714 million. Since the beginning of 2023, banks have issued 6,200 loans worth UAH 21 billion to businesses. Since the start of the programme in February 2020, 59,000 loans worth UAH 186.8 billion have been disbursed.

    The largest share of loans was for anti-crisis purposes – UAH 62.6 billion, and for anti-war purposes – UAH 55.3 billion. UAH 28.6 billion was disbursed to refinance previously obtained loans, and UAH 11 billion was granted for investment purposes. In addition, agrarians received UAH 26.9 billion in loans to support their operations, while trading companies obtained UAH 1.5 billion to replenish their working capital.

    The most frequent recipients of loans under the programme are companies operating in agriculture (53%), trade and manufacturing (24%), and industrial processing (14%). The top regions in terms of the amount of loan agreements concluded are Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia regions, and the city of Kyiv.

    The Government’s Affordable Loans at 5-7-9% programme allows businesses to borrow up to UAH 60 million at 0% interest for the period of wartime + 1 month. Retailers have access to loans of up to UAH 1 billion at 5% per annum, which allows them to pay their suppliers on time and replenish their financial balance.

    In addition, the Government has expanded the programme of affordable loans for businesses destroyed by the hostilities. Entrepreneurs will be able to get a loan for the restoration of production facilities at 9% for up to 5 years in the amount of up to UAH 60 million.
