  • Ministry of Economy: Average salary has grown by 23.6% during a year in Ukraine

    The average nominal salary in Ukraine in June 2021 made up UAH 14,313. Compared to June last year, it increased by 23.6%, real wages grew by 12.9%.

    According to the State Statistics Service, wage growth as compared to June last year was observed in all types of economic activity.

    In particular, wages grew the most in the areas of temporary accommodation and catering (by 71.3%), arts, sports, entertainment and recreation (39.5%), information and telecommunications (38.4 %%), health care and provision of social assistance (36.7%), education (31.3%).

    The average salary has increased in all regions of the country. The largest growth occurred in Khmelnytsky (29%), Chernivtsi, Ternopil (28% each) regions.

    The main drivers of wage growth were the intensification of production activities of most economic entities, as well as raising the minimum wage from January 1, 2021 to UAH 6,000.

    The highest level of the average salary in June was recorded in Kyiv (UAH 20,455), Donetsk (UAH 14,988), Kyiv (UAH 14,679) and Mykolaiv (UAH 14,044) regions.

    The highest salaries were received by employees in the field of information and telecommunications - UAH 26,197, financial and insurance activities - UAH 22,691, public administration and defense; compulsory social insurance - UAH 19,868, professional, scientific and technical activities - UAH 19,052.
