  • Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources: Memorandum of cooperation on climate and environmental finance signed

Svitlana Grynchuk, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, and Andriy Tsymbal, Managing Partner of KPMG Ukraine, have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of climate and environmental finance, in particular, to prepare and implement a European taxonomy in Ukraine and define what a green investment project is. This will allow to integrate the latest practices into Ukraine’s environmental management system.

As Svitlana Grynchuk noted at the meeting, Ukraine’s priority on the path to climate neutrality is to simplify the path of investment in green technologies.

“Our partnership is an important step towards reforming climate finance. We expect KPMG to provide expert support in improving the tax rate and mechanisms for the distribution of environmental finance. This will contribute to achieving such goals as reducing emissions, restoring contaminated areas and strengthening ecosystem resilience,” said Svitlana Grynchuk.

According to Svitlana Grynchuk, this partnership will allow to implement more effective climate policy by engaging stakeholders and international partners in environmental initiatives.

“I thank KPMG Ukraine for your desire to keep up with the times and improve the investment environment in Ukraine. I am confident that together we will be able to take care not only of the quantity but also of the quality of these investments,” the Minister said.
