  • Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food signs memorandum of understanding with foreign non-governmental organisation providing grants to farmers

    The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and Mercy Corps Ukraine have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

    The document was signed by Mykola Solskyi, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, and Vicki Aken, Acting Country Director, Mercy Corps Ukraine.

    According to the Memorandum, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the Mercy Corps have agreed on potential cooperation in the field of agriculture.

    In particular, on cooperation in the following areas:

    • development of bilateral relations in the agricultural sector;
    • exchange of information on the functioning of the State Agrarian Register;
    • development of farmers’ assistance programmes that can be implemented by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and Mercy Corps;
    • providing support for access to educational programmes for agricultural producers.

    Background

    Mercy Corps is a global team of humanitarian and development professionals operating in more than 40 countries.

    Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion, Mercy Corps has supported more than 750,000 Ukrainians. The organisation provides grants for micro, small and medium-sized businesses, as well as small and medium-sized farms.
